There are a couple of really interesting shots of Vinnie behind Sting, taken from the Today show gig - on this site:
www.backstagestories.com
they're in the section "The Proof" - find the TSting Today shots, and scroll down to find the 2 shots of Vinnie
The intensity and concentration on his face are great to see, show the level of commitment to the music, and should silence any criticisms about his interest in Sting's stuff!

Nice pics, but I'm not sure the look on his face is intense more than it is COLD. It was very cold in New York that week and when the band first took the stage Vinnie put his hood over his head to stay warm.

Now that's a scary thought - Vinnie's hands COLD
[Thx for those, JohnDrum ]
Check out Sting in the 3rd 1 down, & perc Krua [in backgrnd, cupping his hands near his mouth] on the 11th 1 down - that'll tell ya how cold it was...
If you've ever played an outdoor gig bewtween Oct & Feb [as I'm sure many of us have], then you know the score...esp if you're farther north...& ESP your hands...
[Vin: "Now if you want to take THESE sticks, pal, you're gonna have to pry 'em from my cold, dread hands"]....

His throne is going down
again, it seems to me. I
remember those Zappa days.
That was pretty incredible.
I like to be low but that
was LOOWWWW.
Thanks for the links.

.....and, given the low temperature, aren't Vinnie's fills at the end of the tune even more jawdropping?

Great pics there! I caught the last part of that show. What an awesome performance!
On the same site, there's also some pics of Harvey Mason playin with his band FourPlay.
